The Joe Schmo Show
This was a decent series. I have to admit that the humanitarian side of me wasn't crazy about it at first, but soon the sick twisted part of me started tuning in. Per a suggestion from my buddy David, I even took some graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate to make "Joe Schmores" at Jim & Julio's house while watching the finale tonight.
...and what a letdown the finale turned out to be. I wanted to see permanent emotional damage unfold before my very eyes. I wanted tears, pain and carnage. What did I get?
A sappy reception where the actors gathered 'round and tearfully told him what a wonderful human being he is and then knelt down and sucked him off. It was really just a Barbara Walters special without the soft focus lens. I was not pleased. At least I enjoyed my Schmores (thanks, Dave).

I have once again proven invaluable to the staff here in our firm, this time by providing our accountant directions to arrive at her destination without having to make any left turns (an act which terrifies her worse than the wrath of God himself).

Stirring The Pot
I woke up this morning with this e-mail forward from my mom in my inbox:
This one is impossible to believe. Scroll down for the text. If there is one thing you forward today......let it be this.
<picture of Eid stamp>
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of PanAm Flight 103!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the Marine barracks in Lebanon!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the military barracks in Saudi Arabia!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the American Embassies in Africa!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the USS COLE!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM attack on the Twin Towers on 9/11/2001!
REMEMBER all the AMERICAN lives that were lost in those vicious MUSLIM attacks!
Now the United States Postal Service REMEMBERS and HONORS the EID MUSLIM holiday season with a commemorative first class holiday postage stamp.
REMEMBER to adamantly and vocally BOYCOTT this stamp when purchasing your stamps at the post office. To use this stamp would be a slap in the face to all those AMERICANS who died at the hands of those whom this stamp honors.
REMEMBER to pass this along to every patriotic AMERICAN you know
GOD BLESS AMERICA
LONG MAY SHE WAVE
I checked the forward history and it had been circulating among many members of my former church. Feeling feisty, I decided to reply to everyone who had forwarded the message along:
I am embarrassed that you sent this out.
For every Middle Eastern Muslim terrorist, there are thousands of decent Muslim Americans who are productive members of society and are entitled to the same rights that we, as fellow Americans, enjoy. Whoever concocted this bright idea to organize a God damn postage stamp boycott could really focus their time and energy in a more positive direction (particularly a certain hypocritical pastor's wife who preaches to love thy neighbor unconditionally).
Embarrassed and disgusted,
Josh Hunt
Coincidentally, I could care less about the cause. I just want my mom to be the gossip of the next several church bake sales.

Tech Snob
The first time I went to college, I enrolled in ACS 160, the first course for the computer science major. I really had no idea what a computer was or how it worked so I decided this class was a logical first step. What I didn't realize was that, as the entry level class for the major, the class would be jam packed with Microsoft bashers, Mac worshippers, and other dorks who wanted to impress the teacher with their UNIX knowledge every 12 seconds. Broken and discouraged, I dropped out of college halfway through the semester.
(ok it had nothing to do with ACS 160, but the point is that I never completed the course)
Fast forward six years; I am about to start big peoples' school. I finished with my prestigious A.A. from community college at the end of the summer, but the Fisher School of Accounting wants me to complete a certain computer course before I begin the major. Now that I've had some time to practice computing, my knowledge is indeed a little more broad; I've been in the class for about eight weeks, and I've become what I have always despised the most: the Tech Snob.
Last night in class we spent hours and hours going over nested loops, recursion, file pointers, <stdio.h>, and the likes... or no wait, what I meant to say was that we spent ten minutes learning how to change the Office Assistant from the paperclip to the Goddamn wizard. Someone shoot me.
