pins & needles
I'm a little hefty. It's become a part of college life that I hope to God I can find the time to combat after graduation. But every now and then I find a few spare minutes to go and try to lose a pound or two. So this morning I woke up and decided to dust off the old rollerblades.
In the past I've managed to trek a good thirty miles on the ole skates, but up here in North Florida that would take me through like 14 different cities and down several gravel roads (which aren't very accomodating for roller skates). And since I haven't skated in a few months and weigh a deuce o nine, today's trip was more like seven miles. After I reached the 3.5 mile halfway point and turned around to start back to the car, I noticed something wasn't right with my feet.
Have you ever stood up to walk, but faltered because your foot fell asleep? Okay now imagine that sensation in both feet at a reasonably high speed while relying on your legs to keep you upright... that was me today. And folks, it was a little scary.
It turns out that one of my pairs of socks (I wear two pairs while skating) was way fluffy and cutting off the circulation to my feet. I finally found a parking garage where I could sit in the shade and perform a self amputation with the jagged edge of my house key. The bleeding stopped, though, and I am happy to report that I am doing fine. And bonus... it took off a good thirty pounds. I met my weight loss goal after all!

more sister humor
The sister and I discussed my upcoming car purchuse today and how I was considering taking some cash off of a credit card to pad my down payment.
Gina: if i were you i'd find out if the dealer accepts credit cards as part of the down payment so you dont have the higher interest fee of cash advance. i bet they do
Gina: it would appear as a purchase rather than a cash advance
Josh: true
Josh: I was just afraid that it would look to them like I was using credit to get credit... but then I guess the dealer doesn't care
Gina: they dont care if you turn a trick in the fricken parking lot in the car you are test driving as long as you got the funds....
